I am delighted to announce that MARHA VR Photography has introduced Beauty Sessions.

I have always been inspired by women, and, as a woman, I believe we are, stronger, smarter and more powerful than we often think we are. We undervalue ourselves and set our own limits. It is time to stop those thoughts! I have created these sessions to help you see that you really are more than you believe, that you have to feel confident and also, and most important to make you have an amazing experience with yourself on that day.

What do you need for this session?

You don’t need to bring anything for these sessions, just the desire to live this experience. As soon as you contact me, I will send you a guide on how to prepare your session. We will talk about clothes, props, and what we need for the shoot. I like to involve you in all the processes because it is the way you will enjoy more. Also, I have a beautiful selection of dresses, fabrics and clothes we can use!

What about makeup?

I also provide makeup which will be done by a profesional make up artist the day of the session. You will live the full experience, from the make up to the posing and finally the grateful moment when you see your prints on your walls.

FAQ about my Maternity Sessions

FAQ about my Maternity Sessions

maternity photography dublin

I am recently receiving many emails to request information about my pregnancy sessions. As some questions are always the same I have decided to write a post to help you all with this enquiries. The most frequently asked questions are:

Should I bring my clothes or you provide them in your studio?

I have a selection of clothes and dresses that I use in my photoshoots. The selection includes: glamorous dresses, elegant blouses, skirts and bodysuits. Also, I have a beautiful fabrics that I use to create an amazing look.

Although I have all that I need for your photoshoot, I am a person who likes to prepare everything in advance. My key is if you work in what you really want to achieve and you prepare really good the session before the shoot then the result is completely different and stunning. That why I like to involve my clients in the preparation of the session. Also, I suggest to bring any clothes you would like to wear. Sometime people feel better with their clothes and they really like to be photographed with them.

Should I make my make-up at home before the session or do you provide this service in your studio?

A professional makeup artist works with me to make you look fabulous the day of your session. Long time ago I decided to incorporate this service because, as a professional, the make-up artist knows the different kind of skins tones and also how to enhance the facial features in the most beautiful way. All you need is to come with your face clean. That is all! We will make the rest at my studio.

How long takes the photoshoot?

Normally the photoshoot takes around 3 hours. I love to talk a bit with my clients when they arrive to the studio so we know each other, we break the ice and we see the clothes we are going to use. Then the make-up artist start with you make-up. This takes around 1 hour. When you are ready we start with your photoshoot and it takes around 2 hours.

I like to work without haste. First you will be more relaxed and secondly I like to pay attention to all the details so I can take the best of you. If you are planning to book a photoshoot with me think that you are going to spend all the morning in my studio. I suggest don’t make plans for these day! 😉

Could I be accompanied or can I take my other child?

The photoshoot is focused on you as you are the protagonist but also, you can come with your partner, child or even with your mom.

I hope this is helpful for you! Please if you have any other questions or you like to book your session contact me!

Soon I will update you with the new guidelines of COVID-19

What clothes are the best for a Maternity Session?

What clothes are the best for a Maternity Session?

Would you like to do a maternity session but you have no idea what to wear? Don’t worry, I can help you to choose the best clothes for a maternity photo shoot!

What clothes are the best for a Maternity Session?

Preparing clothes for a maternity photo session could be a nightmare, but actually, it is easier than you can imagine.

Normally when clients contact me to book their session I send them instructions about what they could bring with some examples so they don’t forget anything. Also, I have a selection of fabrics and clothes in my studio that I always use.

In this post I explain 3 factors to consider when preparing clothes for a maternity photography session in the studio, since for an outdoor session I would recommend totally different things.

Colours are probably the most important thing when it is about photography. How to combine these colours is going to have a special effect and impact in the photographs. So you must pay attention to it when you are searching for your clothes. I recommend you to pick a colour you feel good with. Then we will talk about how we can match it with other colours and backdrops.

I normally use different backdrops in my sessions and to get a wonderful image the clothes must match with them.

A window generate a beautiful silhouette with all the light coming in from the back of the subject. In this case I recommend white clothes owing to fact that the result transmit peace, beauty and sweetie.

A white backdrop, could become white, grey or even black concerns about the position of the light and the distance from the subject to the background. I normally recommend white or black clothes for this images. But also, casual clothes like jeans go really well.

I like to use black backdrop to do silhouette and reflexion on the floor so I recommend no clothes or black clothes :).

With coloured backdrops I like clothes to be the same colour palette or complementary colours. We will prepare together before your session.

Typically, the main role of the props in photography is to add character, drama, interest to a photo, and highlight a context to the subject’s story. You could bring hats, all kind of jewellery, and everything you would like to incorporate in the shoot. I also have a selection of props in my studio that we will use in your session.

Newborn Photography. Tips for parent!

Newborn Photography. Tips for parent!

Talking about newborn photography is excitement, illusion to preserve these moment of your baby forever, love, but also insecurity, not knowing what to expect or not knowing how to be prepare for it. So that is why we create this post to help you a bit more about how you can be ready for your newborn session.

First you need to know that to achieve that really cute poses, baby needs to be sleeping deeply and he/she should be photographed within the first 14 days of life. After 2 weeks of age, they tend to be disturbed more easily while sleeping and it is not as easy to pose them with the true newborn look. They start to be comfortable stretched and also baby acne can start to appear.

How to get ready for your session:

  • You can interact with your baby to try and keep him/her awake 1-2 hours before we start the session so he/she will be ready to go sleep. I always advice parents to stimulate their baby with a bath. It is work very well!
  • It’s also ideal to schedule the baby’s feeding about 2-3 hours before arriving to the studio. We always leave time for mom feed him/her just before the session starts. A good feeding and a good sleep mean a beautiful portraits.
  • The baby should be dressed in comfortable loose clothing to avoid any lines on baby’s skin.
  • A dummy is great so don’t forget to put one in the bag just in case.
  • The studio will be very warm for the baby. I remind parents to come to the session dressed in layers so they can comfortable remove some clothing if they feel that the room is too warm. Please feel free to enjoy and relax.
  • For breast feeding Mums, please be open to feeding on demand in the studio. For bottle fed babies, please bring some extra bottles too.
